This scene came to me quite intuitively and along with the urge to revive a childhood technique: sketching the highlights with wax crayons first, then painting over them with watercolor. The bright lines resist the paint, leaving behind a rough, slightly magical texture. Just right for this little ghostly world.
The three ghosts are dancing happily in front of their home, even though the surroundings feel eerie and mysterious.
The sky was painted wet-on-wet, letting my pigments bloom freely across the paper. In the window, there’s a soft shimmer of glitter that was perfectly captured in the high-resolution scan.
